Dr. Shanta Barton-Stubbs – Teen Depression (Anxiety) Part 4

Dr. Shanta Barton-Stubbs is the Founder & Director of New Image Youth Center (NIYC) in Orlando, FL. At the age of 21, Shanta Stubbs founded NIYC with only $1,500.00 and eight children. Shanta now helps mentor over 65 children a day in the Parramore Community. Shanta Barton-Stubbs has received her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and Master’s degree in Mental Health, and recently In 2015 Shanta completed her doctorate in Theology, with the emphasis on Not for profit management. Shanta has been the null of many awards including; the Bank of America Local Hero Award in 2007, the 2011 L’Oreal Women of Worth top 10 nominee and winning the National Title Miss Corporate America in 2009. Shanta is the current 2016 Cox Reserve Hero with WFTV channel 9 News for her dedication to teaching at risk youth the importance of urban community gardens. This garden also allows her and her kids to grow organic food for themselves and the homeless. NIYC has 2 classrooms, and a dance / exercise room. Shanta’s goal is to be a role model for at-risk youth and women to show that they can defy the odds under any circumstances. Shanta is now a Licensed Therapist, a certified Success Life Coach, and Motivational Speaker and the founder of Under Construction Empowerment Services, counseling service that guides individuals to success in reaching their goals.

Most recently Dr. Stubbs, co authored a book Discover your destiny, Live your dreams, love your life, a book which has been recognized as international best seller. Dr Stubbs also is the author of Yes God, I’m Listening, and There is good in my hood, a children’s book sharing the importance of safe haven for children which her youth co authored.
